The first frames listed and illustrated are British Standard frames for use in National, WBC and Smith hives.

The various patterns are prefixed by DN or SN, where DN stands fo Deep BS Frames for use in brood chambers and SN stands for Shallow BS Frames for use in supers
The following frame parts are used to make up the various patterns of frames listed below.
As a guide the most popular type are DN5 Brood and SN4 Super. These are Hoffman self-spacing and do not require spacers.

Top Bar (wedge type)
TI -17 long 7/8 wide 11/16 deep.
T2 -Similar to T1 but 1 1/16 wide, lugs reduced to 7/8.
Side Bars
S1- For metal ends. 7/8 wide, (or 1 1/16 wide) 3/8 thick grooved.
S2 - Hoffman self-spacing. Wings 1 3/8 rest 1 1/16 wide.
S5 - Manley self-spacing 1 5/8 wide throughout length.
Bottom Bars
B1 - Two pieces each 5/16 x 1/4.
B2 - For S5. Two pieces 15/32 reduced ends.
